DUST STOP®

Applied Polymer Systems products harness the power of environmentally friendly materials to solve numerous water quality, erosion, and sediment challenges. Anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) is a polymer flocculant that can be used for a wide variety of erosion, sediment, and stormwater management applications. APS products bind, stabilize, and/or remove commonly problematic particles like sediment (clays, silt), metals, and nutrients to prevent erosion, clear water, and improve BMP performance. APS products are made and packaged in the United States, are drinking water quality (NSF/ANSI Standard 60 Certified), have been extensively toxicity tested by third party laboratories in accordance with EPA standards, and are safe for both terrestrial and aquatic organisms and environments.

Product Overview

Dust Stop® is an environmentally friendly
polymer that binds small dust and soil
particles on the soil surface to prevent
erosion and mitigate fugitive dust. Dust
Stop® is safe, effective, easy to apply, and salt
free. One application of Dust Stop®
significantly decreases water requirements
and mitigates dust.

Primary Applications

  • Dust control and suppression
  • Newly cleared construction and building sites
  • Mine tailings and spoil piles
  • Road and highway construction
  • Hydroseeding and water truck application
  • Gravel & dirt roads, staging areas, parking lots, and other unpaved areas.

Features and Benefits

  • Decreases wind and traffic induced dust
  • Significantly decreases water requirements
  • Salt free
  • Decreases soil/dust movement
  • Increases water penetration, reducing runoff
  • Improves air quality
  • Drinking water quality polymer
  • Environmentally friendly, biodegradable
  • Reduces operational and cleanup costs
  • Helps achieve regulatory compliance

Directions for Use

  • Shake well before opening as separation may have occurred.
  • APS Dust Stop® Emulsions may be applied with hydroseeders, water trucks or other spraying devices. Spraying devices having a mechanical agitator or mixing apparatus or hydraulic recirculation work best.
  • Pour emulsion into water stream while filling tank or into a filled tank with mixing apparatus running. Allow emulsion to mix for five minutes before application.
  • APS Dust Stop® Emulsion must be added at the end of the final mix and sprayed immediately. 100% coverage is required for best results (i.e. entire surface has been sprayed/treated).
  • Caution – Do not exceed 1 gallons of emulsion / 1000 gallons as viscosity of the water may reduce spraying efficiency or damage spraying equipment.

Application Rates

Dust Stop® liquid:

1-5 gallons per acre
Do not exceed 1 gallon Dust Stop /
1,000 gallons of water (in tank)

Precautions / Limitations

  • Use only as directed – exceeding suggested application rates will not improve performance.
  • Do not exceed 1 gallon Dust Stop liquid in 1000 gallons of water to prevent clogging hydroseeding or other spray equipment
  • Clean up spills quickly. Do not use water unless necessary, extremely slippery conditions will result.
  • Consult manufacturer (Applied Polymer Systems) or authorized distributor for assistance
  • Lifespan will vary depending on site and environmental conditions, traffic frequency, maintenance
