Product Overview
Silt Clear is a granular anionic PAM product designed specifically for effective water treatment on a wide variety of soils. Although anionic PAMs are soil specific and should be matched to each site’s unique soil and water, Silt Clear’s special formulation allows it to react with and effectively to improve water quality and clarity on upwards of 90% of soil and water samples.
Primary Applications
- Water clarification in passive treatment applications
- Remove turbidity sources such as silt, clay, metlas and nutrients
- Use in construction, mining, and other land disturbing activities
- Apply Silt Clear to rock checks, wattles, sediment retention barriers (SRBs), swales, erosion matting, and many more

Directions for Use
- Silt Clear is applied dry via hand spreader, push spreader, mechanical disk, or hand sowing
- Silt Clear is ideal for sheet flow areas, it is best to use in conjunction with mulch, matting, or other cover
- If applied to channelized flow areas, it is best to use in conjunction with wattles, rock checks, or other devices to decrease flow velocity and increase mixing
- Flor large treatment areas, Silt Clear may be applied via hydroseed or water truck. However APS 700 Series Silt Stop Powders may be better suited for soil stabilization and erosion control.
Application Rates
- A little bit of Silt Clear goes a long way! Packaged in 2.5 gallon jugs and 50 pound bags.
- Area based application rate: 0.5-1 cups of Silt Clear per 100 square feet
- Flow based applications: 5lbs Silt Clear / 100,000 gallons of water
- Repeat application every 8-12 rain events (every 2-8 weeks), or when turbidity begins to increase
